Jon Scroggs is the co-owner of The Barn 1880, bringing a unique blend of vision, craftsmanship, and hands-on expertise to every corner of the historic venue. With a deep passion for renovation and restoration, Jon has transformed this century-old barn into a charming and functional event space using reclaimed wood, skilled carpentry, and innovative construction techniques.

Jon oversees all building and grounds projects, ensuring that The Barn 1880 remains both beautiful and structurally sound. His practical skills are matched by a love for community and hospitality — he often takes the role of bartender at events, welcoming guests with warmth, humor, and a knack for storytelling.

As a true social connector, Jon brings energy and personality to every gathering, creating a friendly, inviting atmosphere while managing the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the venue running smoothly. Amanda Scroggs, Venue Owner

Amanda Jane Scroggs is the co-owner of The Barn 1880, a historic event venue nestled in the scenic countryside of Warsaw, Indiana. With a passion for weddings, private events, and community celebrations, Amanda combines her love of history, design, and hospitality to create unforgettable experiences for every guest.

As a seasoned event professional and officiant, Amanda has over a decade of experience in wedding coordination, and event planning.

Her hands-on approach ensures that every detail — from décor to guest experience — is thoughtfully managed, creating memories that last a lifetime.

Amanda works behind the scenes on brand, marketing, and social media. Amanda is the booking agent and tour guide and enjoys hearing all the love stories and connecting with local families.

Educational Internship Program – Learn with Us

The Barn 1880 offers an educational internship program designed for students and aspiring event professionals. This hands-on internship provides valuable experience in:

  • Event planning and coordination;

  • Venue operations and management;

  • Hospitality and guest services;

  • Marketing, social media, and administrative support.

This internship is unpaid and designed primarily for educational and career development purposes, but interns may be considered for a paid position as opportunities become available.

Interns work directly with the Barn 1880 team to gain real-world skills in a professional, supportive environment.

Flexible hours (4–10 per week, including weekends) and semester-long participation make this internship ideal for high school or college students seeking career experience or academic credit.
